Look what we found, welcome C Comme Ca, to Shopgirls!

C Comme Ca is all made in Montreal, the brand courtesy of Cindy Cantin. She has made felt her material of choice. Why? Well because felt has many unexpected and remarkable qualities. Made from merino wool or recycled fibres, felt is sustainable, durable, and water resistant. C Comme Ca also uses recycled leather for their products. You can’t help but attach your eyes to these unique pieces. Certainly, I have never owned a felt bag….for now.

Among the C Comme Ca selection are wallets, laptop sleeves, a backpack, and – well stop by for a peak!

Shopgirls recently acquired LOVELY pieces from Luxetto!

Luxetto is made in Montreal, from leather furniture roll ends. The leather is extremely soft, and their materials are either plated in gold or silver, and all pearls and semi-precious stones are genuine,
Take your pick, you can’t go wrong!

The newest arrival to Shopgirls is myself,
Stephanie Rotz!

Today is my first day here at the boutique as an intern. Coming from my second year at Ryerson University as a Fashion Communication student, I couldn’t be more excited to be apart of this truly Canadian store. Seeing as how I pride myself on being a true Canadian I have either had a hockey stick, Timmy’s cup, or some maple syrup in my hand. Now, instead I’ll be here, among truly inspiring Canadian works of design. My personal favorite items so far are the extremely light and bright necklaces by Montreal designer, Norwegian Wood, featured at the front of the store. These necklaces in my opinion are a perfect dose of the colour blocking trend.

As a Toronto fashion student, the wait for LG Fashion Week is over. I can’t wait for Melissa Nepton’s show! This Thursday October 20th, you can catch me backstage helping out at the show, and then after back here at Shopgirls for the preview of her Spring 2012 line. Be sure to come by and check out her current fall line as well, that will be for sale. Don’t miss the FDCC calendar of the events for this week’s shows.

In case you haven’t been into the shop recently, we have caramel coloured Yoga Jeans!!! The classic high rise straight leg now comes in this delicious colour choice. Take a look at them online but the pictures barely do them justice.

Designer Judith Desjardins has a way of fitting the woman’s curves and this season is no different. Bodybag is here!!! Remember the gorgeous wrap dress of the spring? Well the Fall styles do not disappoint.

One of my favourites is the Grace Top. With an exaggerated cowl neck this top is a great alternative to your fall cardigan.

A stylish shrug is another must have as the weather starts to cool. Bodybag’s Wolf Shrug is available in blue or cream. Don’t you think the slashing details on the back would be great over a bright coloured cami?

Shopgirls warmly welcomes our newest and clearly fabulous jewellery design team, Studio METHOD(E)!! Two lovely ladies (based out of Quebec City), Marie-Helene and Emily create a line of products they have dubbed “Circus”.

Made from recuperated copper wire that has been powder coated. The wire comes from used electrical wires that have been skinned, cleaned, drawn, formed AND THEN soldered. The result: Gorgeous, colorful and oh-so-fun durable pieces!!

We especially love their stackable earrings (layer or leave alone, as you wish), chandelier-like danglies and their unique cage rings.
